is there a picture of the back of one of those bio-cubes? looking to see where the holes would need to be drilled in order to do what you want.

not sure it could be done without drilling. adding an overflow box is the other option, but i am not sure how much room that would take out of the tank area.

the only reason not to drill is if the tank is made out of tempered glass. drilling is a lot easier than you think and makes for a cleaner overflow with less risk of siphon breakage.

I also think you would have trouble trying to maintain the siphon since the back area is the filtration section and the water level may not stay constant back there.

You could make a hangon if you don't mind removing the lid or altering it. There isn't a lot of room in the back section of a biocube so to have one of any size, it has to be external and with it external, you have two options:

1) Drill the tank (preferable if possible)
2) Hang on overflow box and that means modifying/removing the lid to the tank.
