Anyone ever build a splash guard?

Hi All
I am looking to build a splash guard for my lights. I have a 25 gallon tank, an Eclipse 2 hood, and just retrofit a Sunpaq 2X32w light. My old splashguard does not fit over the new light. I plan on using plexi-glass to construct the guard. What type of adhisive should I use to assemble? And is a splashguard absolutely neccesary?---Thanks a million!

Thanks BR! Bursting was my biggest concern. The Sunpaq fits perfectly in the Eclipse hood, and the lights are only 3" from the water. Maybe I can cut the stock Eclipse splashguard to suit my needs. This is my first salt setup--Everything makes me nervous!...You have been a huge help---Thanks again---Anthony
