Another DIY skimmer questions

I like a clear body also, an alternative to acrylic is butyrate tube you can weld it to acrylic with weldon #16, and it is cheaper and easier to work with than acrylic, I got a peice thats 8" dia x 3/16" wall x 24" tall for my chamber, it's a little hard to find, google it.
I'm running a recirculating Oceanrunner NW pump and feeding the skimmer with a Genx, it's overkill for my 100gal, but I never need to upgrade unless I go over a 400 gal tank.

Weldon makes a glue that is great for filling gaps and applications like this, I forget the number of the formulation, check for plastic/acrylic supply online, they should have it. Maybe if you have a TAP plastics store locally they might have it as well.

Vince, wouldn't a venturi go right after the pump to achieve max airdraw without creating destructive bubbles in the impellor chamber?
The only design I have seen that doesnt do that are the "Needlewheel" setups

Directly before is the most efficeint placement of that design, causes cavitation resulting in a great bubble size. Have yet to notice any impellor wear; and if it does destroy it in the long run, mag impellors are cheap and easy to come by.
