Ah, Help! CPR middle brace not attached
I have the big CPR and had thought about getting some ideas for the pump, but in cleaning it this morning, for the first time in a couple of months, I realize the back is bowing out a little and the center brace has detached on the back side.
My first thought was drill a hole above the water line and use a long brass screw to pull it back straight. I could use gaskets and silicone glue around them. My problem is I am hesitant to drill the acrylic, as I understand it is hard to work with.
My second thought is to drain it down and glue the part back, but with what and will it hold?
Thanks
WG

brass bad, nylon good.
is this just an acrylic brace that goes from front to back? you can prolly just get yourself some Weld-On 16 and do it yourself. you can add a little more acrylic to the area to keep it from happening again.

Weld On 16? Where do I get that? Do I need it to be dry, and if so for how long?
Not sure how to add more acrylic to make it not happen again??? Aren't we into the problem of cutting acrylic (*guy who has hacksaw and dremel as majority of "cutting" tools)
I was more comfortable drilling, and I wasn't comfortable with that....

Got the stuff. Drained the Fuge below the spot I needed to "weld"
Dried it off and applied the weld-on 16 to both sides. I left it about 5 minutes, then used a c-clamp and mashed it together. I left it like that for 24 full hours and as soon as I release the clamp, POP and its open.
Any other thoughts?
