A few Plumbing ?'s

Hello everyone,

Before I get started let me say that I searched for these answers in the archives with no luck.

I'm getting ready to plumb my new 90 with built in overflow. I have (2) 1" sump returns and (2) 1/2" tank returns. I have a good idea of the plumbing components needed (IE: unions, valves).

My questions stem from my lack of experience with just plain ol' plumbing. Will the 2 part gluing solution work (primer, glue)? Will it leave any adverse chemicals flowing through the tank? How long should I let it cure before testing with freshwater?

I know these might seem like silly questions, but I really have no experience in plumbing.

the solvents cure almost instantly. as long as there is not a strong odor, you are good to go. i usually try and wait at least 15 mins.

when testing with FW, if you are trying out a skimmer it will not function properly. bubbles form differently in SW than in FW. it will work fine for a leak test though.

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to be sure. The FW test would solely be for looking for leaks!!!
