Would that work? I think you can get the ballast and end caps seperate if oyu have the bulb already.

I dunno for the UV shield i haven't done MH lights yet. On my 10gallon i did those PC lights they are looking great!!

hehe competition ehhh, I thought about doing a 70 watt MH on my nano also. I just did the PC for a few reasons,
cheaper was the big one
