Question

35G Hex skimmer ???

I am looking to build a protein skimmer for my 35G Hex...the tank is not drilled and there is no sump it jus runs filtration/water changes...does anyone know a way to make one that either hangs on the back or side or something? i have an emporer 280 hangin on it now and dont know where i would be able to hang it from...or is there a way to get a sump hooked up to a filled tank ??? without having to empty it and have it drilled so i can put the protein skimmer in the sump ? either way im looking for a DIY plan for a 35G hex HOB protein skimmer if anyone knows plans for one ? or can sketch some up for me it would be my first DIY project i know i can do it just wondering if anyone knows of plans that will allow it to fit to my tank ???

You can do a weir box or hang on overflow to use a sump without drilling the tank, that should work out. An for a smaller tank, is there a reason why you're against buying a skimmer? You can easily find a sufficient skimmer for $100 or so used, I'd think materials and your time are probably worth more than that.
