110 Gallon reef underway!
Hello All,
I wanted to take a second and post some pics of me drilling my tank yesterday. I was a little worried, however, once I started, it was a snap!
I know that some people are 100% against drilling tanks, however, I am away from home for several days at a time. The LAST thing I want to worry about is an external overflow failing.
So I bought a diamond hole saw from ebay. It was only $6.00 for a 65 mm bit. With shipping from china for about 13 bucks....find that price someplace else. I bet the quality isnt there, but I just needed 2 holes, not 60, so the life of the bit was not important to me. Secondly, the local glass co would not drill the tank assembled...not an option for me. So I figured if I drilled and broke it, I would have the glass co build a new one for me. There is also a pic of the wrench I made to tighten the large pvc bolts of the bulkhead. I found the bulkheads on the net for about 5 bucks each.
Anyways, on with the pics.
