10g DIY Refugium / Sump

Here's my refugium/settling/sump tank. Its a 10 gal drilled for return and sets above my main tank. It has two baffles for the skimmer to dump in and gets it's water from a maxijet 900 in the main tank.

I had the glass cut at HD the diminsions are

(3) 9 1/2 x 10" (have them cut it just a hair under 10")
(1) 4" x 9 1/2" To divide the overflow chamber in half on the right

Have them cut a small piece about 1/2 inch by 5" this is needed to glue on the second half of the overflow to force water into the first chamber then the second.

On the left side the baffles are glued in at 2" intervals. Glue the far left one first.

I used a dremel tile cutting bit to cut the hole, I masked the hole area with tape and ran water over it while cutting. Used silicon on the bulkhead fitting both sides. I was worried about over tighting it and breaking the tank, that would have been a bummer after putting all this work into it. The extra chamber can house a powerhead or just a feed tube, just put some sponge into it.

why did you want to divide the right hand chamber in half?

I was going to use the extra chamber to feed the calcium reactor. pack it with sponge and get filtered water out of it.
