This is what I found, "Canon EOS D30" and "13350172" Which looks like a serial number. Both areon the bottom of the camera. Thanks Dave!

You asked me what a digital SLR meant so I spelled it out for you

The reason I put the rolly eyes there is because everyone knows what digital is! You know Digital = Digital!

I'm thinking that's a mighty sweet camera.

If you don't think so, I'd gladly trade

Well, if you can't figure that camera out, you could just send it on over to me....I mean, I'd GLADLY take that camera from you. I've got a Canon Elan 7e...so I know Canon cameras, and I've got some lenses to use it with....so...to help with your confusion, I'll take it off your hands for you. In all honesty, that's an amazing camera, and you should be able to take some magnificent photos...just learn to use the basic settings, read some books, and practice taking pictures...good photographs come from experience!

I still say you should take a course in school if you want to learn how to take killer pics. If you know the basics you will know how to use any camera.

Your camera is discontinued and so is this book so you should pick it up ASAP...
