Nikon owners help please

I have a d-100 and cannot for the life of me change the shot delay to less than 2 seconds. Its fine for all of my macros but I was just trying to take some shots of my kid outside and the delay really doesnt help any.

There isnt an option for less than a 2 second delay or to turn the delay off.

Any suggestions??

Bill, I've not used a D100 but the DPReview site has an extensive review of the camera, including the functions.

Self-timer shooting

Camera takes a single frame after a predefined delay, this delay can be set to 2, 5, 10 or 20 seconds via a custom function 8.

Function 8 is found in the CSM submenu. This page of the review shows an illustration the menu function to change the timer setting:

Thanks Dick. Wanne hear how intelligent I am??

There is a dial on top of the camera that has three options. single, multi and self timer.

The self timer is turned off manually with this dial.........not in the menu
