instead of derailing a ton of threads in my club's forum, thought i would just post a bunch of pics i have taken in the last week showcasing my new livestock, as well as the new setup its self.

thanks for looking.

whole tank, t5's only

how the heck do you get pics that close?! I know you must have a good zoom, but is that in a macro mode also?

i use a wide angle lense and a macro lense stacked allow me to get in close on the macros. all my shots, near and far, are taken in macro mode on the camera, it sets the focus to an infitite range, so i can "usually" get what i want in focus, no matter where it is in the tank.

camera is a nikon coolpix 4300 using a 0.45X macro lense.

thanks. i need to work on getting better shots from farther away, i am getting to the point where i can bear through and take the 50 shots of something it takes to get a good macro, but whole tank shots will still require some practice.

well lets see, I set up my first tank 4 years ago, it was a 29 gallon that moved with me to oregon 2 years ago. Since then I have had a 15 nano, the 29 (twice) a 20, a 120, and most recently, this 75, a scaleback from the 120 which would allow me to fine tune some of my husbandry skills for my next tank. This will probably be in the 200 gallon range inwall when we buy our first house, hopefully some time next summer. I am hoping to do a 48"X40"X20" setup, I just cant stop drooling over steve's tank, and I need a picture window to a reef like his myself
