ok.......Dick...and whoever else may be able to answer this......
Ive been told that my shots still look a little "soft" by one of the less kind forums. Thats ok becaus ei dont need anything sugar coated, im really trying to get better here.
Im really struggling with the camera settings, and going back and forth between the computer and the tripod, Im not sure what should be set before the shot is taken, and what should be taken care of in post processing.
Lets take ISO for instance. I have heard that for reef tank shots you really dont ever need to be above 800.........I find that 500-640 seems to be the best. However, when i set the camera to auto ISO, i notice it chooses everything from 200-1500 on any given shot. ??
Whenever I mess with anything besides NO contrast or sharpening, the pics seem to come out grainy, but im thinking im just not doing it right, and there has got to be something to be gained by setting the camera before taking the shot instead of just messing with it in post processing.
Hey Dick, you need to come visist central oregon for a few days......we can hang out in my small house a couple afternoons and play with my camera and tanks(and YOUR brain), and Ill take you down the river for some whitewater in a driftboat and world class steelhead fishing on a fly for compensation.
