I don't hink the two of you need any help with your pictures at all.

Now, if someone could teach me how to get my old point and shoot Minolta Dimage Z10 to do some fancy little tricks that would be cool. Hey, a guy has a right to dream doesn't he?

Welcome aboard Karla! I too am a pro, so it's nice to have another photographer aboard. I shoot mainly sports and portraits, and have been doing so for the last 8 years. I don't shoot as much anymore though, mainly due to time. You have a very nice style indeed with your wedding photography, it takes a special person to shoot weddings. What type of gear do you use? From the looks of the color saturation, I am guessing Fuji, which is what I use and it seems to be the standard among wedding photographers. One thing I have found is that there is a slight learning curve when it comes to shooting your tank. It took me a little while to get things sorted out..LOL

A tripod is definately a must when tank shooting with slower lenses such as the stock 18-55.

That being said, Canon's 100mm Macro is by far my favorite and most used tank shooting lens. My 24-70 is a close second.

funny you say that.

I had a couple of professional photographer friends who came over to teach my how to use my first dslr and macro when I got it a couple of years ago.

Both of them make good money doing what they do.and are obviously good at what they do..but when it came to tank pics...i was seriously disappointed. They werent hardly doing any better than I could at the time with my point and shoot I had somewhat figured out.

Granted they tought me things for sure, but what they taught me was fundamentals that were necessary, but they sucked at taking tank pics. haha

the guy who sold me that first camera used however......he had a broadeer range of experience and was taking sweet macro shots (after cropping) from down the hall 20 feet away with a several thousand dollar telephoto kens he brought over....

anyway...sorry to sidetrack the thread. welcome to trt karla

"Art" photos?

Hey I'm new to the forum too.
I just launched this new company that will be selling 'abstract' backgrounds for tanks, so am interested in the 'Art' photography possibilities. Do you have any experience with that?
