For my powershot SD630 - I turn off the flash and use the macro setting from the auto mode - I don't use the zoom or the digital zoom just get the camera as close to the glass as possible while keeping it in focus

my pics,

learning to use my camera canon powershot s3is i'm ok wiht the macro detal shooting these with super macro on with the lens flush against the glass, i don't have a tripod yet.

main problesm are motion blur.. my fish turn into smears,
and the images seem to be blown out and too bright. any ideas?

adjusted some settings, much less blown out now, but the fish still turn out way blurry when they are moving.

last but not least is the mystery hard coral

Looks good you are getting the hang of it

Fish pics are really hard unless you get a co-opeative fish that holds still

Try using the sport or children and pets setting to get pics of the fish

Can you use the sport setting and macro at same time on that one, they are separate on my Kodak
