HELP! Broken Camera

I am sick about it. Apparently someone (and we'll leave it at that) put the card back in the camera (Canon Rebel XT Digi) and bent the pins....to my horror, one of the pins is broken (which means the IT guy in me can't just bend them back up)....How much is this going to cost me in parts and labor and is it something I might be able to do myself if I got the part?

Thanks !

What model camera? Have you looked online for a service manual?

Scott, hate to hear that. I hope you can find a self-fix but from all I've read, repairing the bent pins is a job for Canon Service.

Sounds like a job for Cannon!

Man, that sucks. If you're handy, you may be able to buy that part and just replace it, but I'd call canon first to see what they know and if they'll give you a quote.

That sucks.

Unfortunately the card interface is surface soldered to the main board of the camera, not an easy DIY job without the right tools. Sounds like a job for a Canon tech.
