I bought my camera in Japan for a fairly good price with some haggling at the store. The problem is that the instruction book is all in Japanese. I am foreign language impared and cannot learn very fast. I would love to take some good pictures with this camera.... so please help if you can.

I would get in contact with Canon and see if they could send you a manual in English.

Go on line at canon USA and see if you can download the manual.

If your running actinics with daylights, the underwater setting works best on that camera. You can play with zoom and macro to see what works best there.

Oh, and lookup the manual for the PowerShot SD500, its the same camera, IXY is just a name used for the Japanese market. I have the SD750, again, a very similar camera.

US name: Canon PowerShot SD500
European name: Canon IXUS 700
Japanese name: Canon IXY Digital 600

Thanks. The wife just says take more pictures in every mode so that you know what they all are and to figure it all out.... I think I will read first.
