I keep on getting alot of light reflecting off the rock. Can that be controlled?

I am using the auto setting with no flash on my Gateway T50 camera.

Try playing with the white balance. If it's set to auto, aim the camera at the rocks, press the shutter half way down, then aim at the middle of the tank and press the shutter the rest of the way.

I don't know if your camera will let you change exposure levels, but it looks like it's just over exposed. Try stepping down the exposure.

Does your cam have a manual mode?? If it does try playing around with a faster shutter speed, and/or a higher f-stop value. I usually take pics around 1/30 to 1/60 of a second with no flash. Hope this helps.
