I have had a Nikon FG for years. Will these lenses work on the Nikon
DSLR's?

FG... likely not. Most DSLR's require at least a D series lens with electronic aperature and metering from the lens.

If i'm not mistaken, the FG's accept bayonet style lenses (manual focas right?)

Yes Sir, I have to turn the ring on the lens to get it in focus. I have 4 lenses for the FG it would have been very cool if they would have worked

I am looking at this camera. Would it be a good choice and if so what would be a fair price?Canon XTI BODY 10.2 MEGAPIXE BATTERY GRIP THREE BATTERIES AND CHARGER, CANON 18-55mm AND 70-300mm. He said it was like new. Thanks

I would give around 600 for what you posted.

Those particular lenses aren't exactly great; but they are a whole lot better than anything you'll find in a P&S.

What are you looking to primarily shoot? Everyday photos? Tank shots, portraits, landscape etc.? I would personally find a nice body, then hand pick lenses based on your style of photography. If your looking at going canon check this site for reviews on canon bodies and lenses.

I'd say a macro lens and a good mid-low range zoom would be great for you. For canon, the 18-55 kit will get you by, you can always upgrade later. The 100mm macro is an awesome macro, it actually behaves like an L for a non L price.

For nikon, I'm sure the nikon guys will chime in.

For the nikon lenses you have, I'm sure you can pick up an adapter somewhere. You'll lose any electronic controls, but you'll still have your manual settings on the lens.

I also ran across a Canon 20d just the body though. Any thoughts on this one and what it might be worth?

I'm not sure on what the 20D would be worth right now. I would probably guess around 3-500 for the body depending on how much it has been used.

Check for an average price on ebay or on some photography forums.
