Thanks Kelli, does look strange this ball of hair algae wandering around the tank, not sure why it's grown on the snail? i also have another turbo thats getting some hair, the only algae growth in my 1yr+ tank is on the snails!
A warning maybe?

I wouldnt worry about it. Are the snails new acquisitions within the last month or so???

I had the same thing happen to a snail that i recentrly got from marine depot. Although it wasnt NEARLY as full and perfect as the snail you posted, he sprouted a wig too........

i pulled him out and scrubbed it off

that is a great pic though
