good thing we dont have cliques here.. ya know silly stuff like the j crowd, the clr's, the brw's and such.. how immature

seriously though, i agree with you jon. and i give them credit where it's due, there is a lot of info there, and some good folks, but they allow too much and there are too many childish folks that dont care to help out.

i appreciate the standards here.

Let's hope TRT doesn't get as big as RC.

I started visiting boards about 7 years ago... First one was 'Aqualink', it got huge after a while - lots different people, lots of flames. The poor moderators were having a terrible time trying to control the 'masses'. When Aqualink got bad, a few of well-intentioned people started 'Reef Central' as a reaction to what was happening at Aqualink. Well, guess what? Reef Central got huge after a while - lots of different people, lots of flames....

Seems that when a board gets too successful, it attracts so many people that the odd rotten apple multiplies along with the membership and things get a whole lot tougher to control.

So, my 0.02 cents worth... if you want TRT to stay the way it is, be careful who you invite to visit the board

but yo uare correct, it jsut becomes so big, that it becomes almsot impossible to keep track of everythign going on. they'd need hundreds of mods to keep everyone in line.

This is what I posted, it was ignored, and as Jay said, the thread was subsequently closed.

First of all, let me say thank you for those of you who actually believed that 'nemofan' was a newbie and gave good advice.

Second of all, think of this thread as a 'secret shopper' testing the affability and capability of salesmen.

I post on this board very seldom, and I don't recall having started a thread in a year if ever. There is a wealth of information here at RC and I have a great time lurking and learning. BUT...one of the funnest reason I read threads here at RC is because I enjoy a good flame-fest now and then and RC is sure to deliver.

Take a look in the mirror folks and ask yourself "Am I the sanctimonious arse who makes other people feel like dirt with holier-reefer-than-you attitude?".

Nemofan posted a legitimate question in a different thread that received absolutly no attention from _any_ member at all. In fact within 24 hours, his honest question was buried on page six. However, when he posted two threads as 'nemofan', one was killed after ten posts (in less than an hour) and this is what the other has become.

Think about that. Are you happier toasting a member than answering the innocuous question? It certainly seems so.

Heheh... maybe they should have karma and mod points like at Slashdot... that would definitely clear up the signal-to-noise ratio over there at {insert board name here}.

I have to browse Slashdot at 3 just to get away from the riff-raff.

I agree with Buzz... good post there fooboo.

P.S. Oh, and jay... it looks like nemofan has 'Moved On' over at RC.

Looks we should start an 'I got banned from RC for trying to prove a point' clique...
