Now, now we don't need to get a big head over RC just because we are BETTER We are just different boards. Brooke an dI are happy with the board just as long as we keep getting the good members and keep our sponsor so we are not out too much money.

Thanks everyone

Jon

Hey now. RC is my home. Be nice.

I belong to a dozen boards. They all have their own flavour. That particular one is a superb board with tons of info for both advanced and new aquarium keepers. Yes its big, {I wonder why}, and we know some posts get lost. Most of the time we try find posts that have gone unanswered and respond to them. Sometimes they dont.

I have been there since it started and like here, many are family there also. Its just where yer comfy. In case some dont know, it was once said that they are sister boards in a way, certainly much closer than some others.

The particular info on all the different boards is many times, specific to that particular board, and the reason I like them all, well most.

Har, har, har. That be Mr. Smith's "storm watchin' chair." I originally picked it up at a garage sale as a gag dorm-warming gift for my brothers. ($5) He decided it was too comfy (even though it's tacky-as-hell) and annointed it it's present status.

And I love TRT. I use the other boards occasionally, but this is home for me. Most reefers belong to several - I don't know that any one is inherently better than any other, but one may be more suited for the wants and needs of any given individual.

Just my 2c. And please, don't encourage my husband.

Danielle

Doug, i'm sure there are a number of "good apples" there too. and i certainly wouldnt want to see a "war" between the two boards.

btw: thansk for answering my post over there you too foobuhda

it's sad. i posted a thread about being a newbie and having this ridiculously stocked 20g. out of 132 views, i got 16 replies, and around 9 were borderline flames. i posted the same post in another forum there and it got closed within 10 replies, because the moderator thoguht the thread would become a flame fest..

that bothers me, that a mod needs to be concerned about a newbie getting flamed over asking a question, rather than knowing that the newbie will get lots of constructive help. too bad.

i know there is a lot of good info there too. the world needs lots of different venues, that's why i went there to begin with, to search the big tank archives, but i've had to search through so much mindless drivel just to find anything of use.

oh well.

Don't tell anyone, but a get a kick out of reading the flames.

There is alot of good info on RC, but I'm almost exclusively a lurker there. Anytime I have a reef question, it goes here on trt.

It is rather curious that noone responded at all to your thread with the exception of Doug and I. I just checked, it got a bump, but is back on page 2.

yeah and that was actually me that gave the bump

this one here didn't go over too well. but it was funny how fast it got flamed. i posted the same thread in a different forum, and within less than 10 posts a mod shut it down because it was goign to become a flame fest.. if i had been an actual newbie, with a vlaid question, my thread would have been shutdown without getting me valid advice.. sad..

Talking

Oh ma'GOSH!!!

I am absolutely ROTFLMAO!!!
That thread you posted over there was GREAT!

I,too, had joined another site in the beginning. When I posted a newbie question, my response from the moderator was so rude. I QUIT!!!! This site was recommended by my LFS and I haven't looked back at that other site!

I was welcomed immediately and have always gotten several helpful replies to my posts.

Keep up the good work,trt.

Nicole

heheh...
'nemofan' has become pretty popular in his second thread.

I think you would've gotten more flames had you stated you bought the 5-gallon tank rather than a 20...

Zigzag Man agrees with you... (*nudge*, *wink*).

I just gotta say that TRT is the best reef board out there. I tell everybody that I come into contact with about it that's into reefing.
The interesting thing is that neither LFS in my town has heard or visited either TRT or RC... gotta love the 'progressive' town I live in.

I would have to say that many people can read thru those "fake" threads so that I would not put too much stock into your post or replies at RC. Like many have said they are different boards but both have their own groups and jobs.
