Question about auto login
I used to get automatically logged in, but for the last month that no longer happens - I have to look up my password and log in every time, even when I'm following a link to a subscribed thread.
I'm clicking on the "Remember Me" button, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I looked all thru my User CP, but couldn't find anything that looked like it might help.
Any suggestions for me?

After logging in, try clicking on the "Log Out" button on the right side of the top blue menu bar. Then re-sign in. This will clear your cookies and most likely resolve your problem.

I am seeing the same behavior the last few days. I cleared my cookies and I still need to login each time.

I'm having this problem also. At first I thought it was my machine, so I went through a whole bunch on steps trying to correct it. I did the whole log out and clearing of cookies thing but it did not work.
The funny thing is my work computer does not have a problem, but my home PC does.

Hi Geoff N Greg!
I tried the log out then log back in trick, and it's still doesn't work when I come to the forum from the link on my homepage, but seems to work now when I use the link in an email (for a subscribed thread). Odd, huh?
I'm using Netscape - assume almost everyone else here uses Explorer, though.

well, actually i am using Safari.
i like to try different browsers whenever i come across a strange problem. html is such a funky thing that some browser do a better job than others when it comes to certain functions. give Exploder a try if you have it, or try the new browser of choice FireFox.

Hah, I'm in the process of switching to Mozilla
How do you like Safari, Geoff?
Guess I spoke too soon about the links to subscribed threads working without asking me to log in. No luck with that now.

if you are going to switch to Mozilla just go ahead and get FireFox. it is based on the same software base.

Same problem on both of my XP machines (work and home) running IE 6. Also checked my Linux box running Mozilla and the autologin works fine there.

Thanks, Geoff!!
Installed Firefox, and at first it didn't seem to auto login. Did the log out then log back in to set new cookies, and that seems to work now (based on trying it one time). I'll keep my fingers crossed. At least this time, I let the password manager keep track of it - I had previously elected not to do that, and couldn't change that. New browser let me elect to let the password manager handle it, so even if the cookies don't "stick", at least now I don't have to go look it up everytime.

Darn, switching to Firefox didn't fix the login after all. But, I still like the new browser.

I am having the same problem as you guys. Started a week ago or so. Both my work PC and my laptop won't do the auto log in anymore, my home PC is still ok.
Instead of recommending switching browsers, can someone look into what the problem actually is so it can be fixed ?
