Moderators Posting Conduct.
I have noticed a trend of moderators pushing their husbandry ideology on other people. IMHO a moderators position is to keep the forum running under the sites rules. Not to push their current preferred tank keeping techniques. With greater power comes greater responsibility. IMO when a mod weighs in on a subject they need to apply a degree of separation not required by the average member. There are plenty of things in this hobby that are not a matter of opinion. Facts are facts and should be stated as facts. I have problem with moderators conduct when they venture past the facts and delve into the subjective. Just because a moderator has a preference doesn't mean they are the only authority and should be followed without question just because they have a Mod tag. I am not in any way saying the moderators need to act like robots and only spit out yes no answers. But they do need to refrain from overly stating their personal preferences as fact.

I personally run a DSB, and I've stated on a few occasions that I tried really hard, in a few different tanks, and I was never able to make a BB system work for me. There are other moderators here that run BB tanks, and were never able to make a DSB system work for them.
All in all I feel that this provides a ballenced view, I would find it impossible to not talk about what works for me.
None of the moderators here ask people to follow our advice without question, and when were not dealing with a "Board problem" we are just members offering the best advice we can to try and help others.

Moderators opinions shouldn't be taken any more highly than any other member. Often their experience warrants extra weight, but not always.
Being human, they are also sometimes wrong.
I'd say it's likely you are taking the posts too much to heart and more seriously than the poster intended. However, that said, please feel free to PM me personally or use the "report this post" option regarding a moderator just as you would any other user. Our mods are very level headed and I feel very comfortable they would be receptive to constructive criticism of their posting style. Use PM if you'd like to remain anonymous to the mod.

I never see any opinion from a moderator as anything other than an opinion from a standard user. I feel they're participation is as equal as mine. The only thing they hold higher than me is the fact they can edit my 'conduct'
It would be silly, IMO, to ask a moderator to stop participating in discussions solely because of the title There wouldn't be many mods left after that.

Very true, I wouldn't have much fun here if I couldn't help others, and receive help from people when I need it,.. it's why I came here in the first place.

We all are very passionate about this hobby and all have the right to express our opinions and how they have worked for us right, wrong or indifferent.
Without endless differing opinions from endless differng levels of experience, we wouldnt learn very much, nor would there be much value to even hanging out in forums such as this. I know I can be a opinionated jerk, but its all in fun(at least makes ME laugh) and if someone calls me on one of my notions, and makes me at least think about it and possibly even offers a good enough challenge to change my mind......then I just learned something and am thankful for beign called on it.
I think the moral to the story is that there is no way we will agree on everything as this hobby is much too deep for that. Arguments are good. Arguing is not.
