Is the 'thank you' e-mail for real???

I'm getting about 50 e-mails every couple of hours from this dang virus going around. Is that the one I got from TRT for real?

I'm not sure what e-mail you are talking about. Our mail server sends out hundreds of e-mails a day. If it looks like a virus it probably is...so just delete it. The only e-mail you should get from TRT is the community bulletin, and notifications of e-mail, PM's, and threads you have subscribed/responded to.

it's all over.. it's browsing other folks address books and scanning websites for addresses... they are all bogus.

i got 2500 emails today. about 2 thousand were bogus. many were emails being returned to me, because "I" sent the virus to other people.. funny, i was at work today "

heck, i even got about 20 emails from myself to another of my address

I just installed Earthlink Spamblocker and I really love that program. It won't allow any e-mail into my inbox unless the sender is already in my address book. All the suspect e-mail goes into a special folder and once a day I go through it and look for e-mail I want or are from friends then I add them to my address book. It eliminates the kids from stumbling across porn e-mails.

Well, must be bogus, just got another one from 'support (at) thereeftank' called "re: approved"

Man, my mailbox has been inundated all day - these e-mails are from addresses I know! I'm even getting 'rejected' e-mails that were apparently sent to somebody else from me! I haven't opened any mail with attachments, so I guess it's time to run the McAfee virus scan again... sigh

Yahoo is pretty good for spam, they put all mass mailings into the 'bulk' folder so I can just delete them by pressing one button

Still, this virus isn't going to self-terminate until sept. 10

yep. and this virus is the one causing the web to slow down the last few days. because it's overloading so many servers with out and in bound mail..

whoever created it (and other virii) imagine how good they would be at something constructive

Sorry CAT..don't know if that mail is really coming from us or not...so hard to say. We don't even have a address book for member addresses. I apologize for the junk/viruses that have our name on them. Hopefully this will get cleared up soon.

Hi Brooke. No problem about the spam - just weird that it had TRT in the address. I haven't gotten any strange e-mails today, maybe yahoo has put a stop to them
