Is there anyway to impose a time limit on the threads as far as to how long they stay open? Like say, older than 90 days and the threads get closed....I'm sure that for some people don't even notice the age of the threads when they post in them

It doesn't really bother me that much. It would be hard to set limits on only certain threads as some need to be open a long time - like build threads. Maybe just limit the poll function to 90 days? Those are the ones I think that people like to dig up and bug everyone. Or maybe have a little check box that says "this is a build thread" to keep it open longer.

Yes, that is possible, but not really something we want to do necessarily. There are times when it is quite normal and acceptable to post on a very old thread.

Even in the classified forum, Greg? Maybe extend it to 180 days since last activity? Definitely not the same annoyance that the old polls was, but sometimes folks fine 3 year old threads to inquire about.

I'm not sure there is a way to do it per forum. I'll have to look into that.
