Well since this is a feed back forum as well, I must say I don't like it. It seems that TRT is becoming one big advertisement and I feel this may start to drive some members away... Just thought I would voice my opinion here..

Elaborate what? About the members being driven away... do you flip the channel when a commercial comes on, or do watch TV for the commercials? I know I flip the channel to get to real content of television..the networking, not the advertisements. I find that page is very unbalanced when viewing it... all the threads feel like they are crammed on the left with the advertisements being large and heavy on the right...for me, it's hard to read with this distraction of the Featured products bar... At least can the admins make it smaller...although I would prefer it go away altogether...

i am sorry, i just do not see much difference in now and a year ago. there are more adds to the right, but they do not seem to interfere with my viewing of the forums. we will discuss it and see what if anything needs to be done or changed.
thank you for the concern.

I find it very distracting...maybe if the ads were smaller...I also think it may be a bit in poor taste, you don't see this on other forums (which I don't like, that is why I made TRT my home)

I just signed on and did notice the ads to the right and have to say I really don't care for it, it seem to take from my reading and viewing space.
But then it maybe because it's new.

I want to say that I just reread my posts in this thread... they may sound a lil harsh, but not meant to be... Geoff, I am certainly not being cross here.. just wanted to point that out

I think the feed back forum is great George, but this thread is about the Featured Products on the right hand side of the screen... that is the part I don't like

I tend to agree, Tony. I think it gives somewhat of a corporate or commercial appeal, and I'd hate that to steal away from the way TRT operates these days.

I too agree. I do not like the ads. Thats one of the reasons I chose TRT as my primary board. I did not mind it so much at home with my 22" wide screen but here at work on a standard 17" it reallu sucks. The Web devlopers gave the sidebar adversisement a fixed size and the thread frams resizes to fit the ads. Long winded thread titles are using 2,3 and 4 lines for just the title on my monitor...

I must agree with Tony, crvz, VWD and ckusnierek. I do not like it one bit.
I logged on today and was completely surprised by the new "featured products".
It is a distraction and it seems too commercial.
I for one do not think that it's current location is the best place for it. Perhaps another area/page would be a better fit?
If enough people have a problem with it and say something maybe something will change. But if it's just a few of us that don't like it, it may be too bad for us.
TRT, dont be upset about what I have said, I still love you!

Maybe a poll could be put up.
Do you like the ads or not.
People tend to be more honest about things when they can answer anonymously.

Have to join in and state that I really don't like the products in the forums, with the new addition of the Shopping Comparision if I was interested in looking at products I would just go there. This is something that is just taking up screen space in my opinion.
