Control Panel

Any word on the control panel issue with threads being read or not? It has been messed up the last week or so where if I close the browser (FF or IE, doesn't matter) then open up TRT again, the control panel will show all of the listed threads as being unread even though I have read them.

It is the same issue that was brought up last time with the Control Panel.

We recently upgraded the version of the software that runs the forum (to vB3.7). Your issue might have to do with this. A standard solution to this problem is to clean your cookies. This is done in the "tools" menu under internet options. If this doesn't help, or you have trouble removing the cookies, please contact me directly via the "contact us" link at the bottom of the site.

Still just as horrible as it has always been. Even tried the "New Post" button and it does the same exact thing. Won't show me, correctly, the new posts.

I've found out that when loging out in an orderly fashion it updates the registered threads display.

I'm aware this doesn't solve the issue but I'm curious if this works for you too.

I'm subscribed to this thread so you can post here.
Subscribe to 30 threads.
Open your Control Panel.
Read all the threads.
Close your browser.
Wait 15 minutes.
Re-opon your browser.
Go to your Control Panel.

Now, go back through those 30 threads and see how many of them that showed up as having a new post actually have a new post. Many won't. Especially if you check it late at night when not many people are posting.

Log out? That is a joke in and of itself. Yes, it clears the control panel. When I opened TRT a few minutes ago, went to the control panel, checked it. There were roughly 50 threads (I didn't count them) that I am subscribed to that had new posts. I logged out, logged back in. Yeah, it cleared the CP out. Now, I get to try to find those 50 threads again to see if someone had something to say that I might be interested in.

You can do that same experiment using the "New Posts" button at the top of the page.

Clearing cookies won't solve the problem, it only makes it worse.

It seems, that in an effort to do something with the Control Panel and the Unread issue, they have set the cookie to expire at midnight local time in Israel. If they would simply set it to expire in 30 days, it would solve the problem.

Are there any plans at all to even attempt to fix the issues with the Control Panel and the New Posts link? So far, the "attempts" at solutions have been dismal failures and it makes those two features impossible to use reliably, and thus making them useless period.
