Are you copying this text out of a Microsoft Word document? Because if you use the copy and paste function between MS Word, and this board, it inserts allot of funky charcters and smileys due to the formating MS Word uses. I discovered this while trying to write the Clam FAQ.

Try copying the text into wordpad and then copying it again here.

yea i was using word,
The solaris lights are pretty awesome; the best part has got to be the fact that it changes the length of days and the cycle of the moon on its own. they make the tank shimmer like metal halides, but if I look at the LED's it doesn’t hurt instantly, so that’s kind of nice, of course i've never looked head on and these are pretty directional. I haven’t tried anything that's too demanding light wise, so the only test i’ve got there is the coral frags I just bought looked as happy under halides at the store as they do under the solaris in my tank. It’s also nice because i'm pretty sure the circuit in that room can only handle 15amps, since i’ve tripped it running a microwave and a space heater, and I haven’t tripped the breaker with the solaris and the heater yet.
My camera really makes the tank look ultra blue; I’ll try to get better pictures later. But even if you think the lights are too blue you can modify the blue LED's on a scale from 1-100 and still keeps everything automatic.
The real reason I got these though is that I hate changing bulbs and worrying about the quality of the light without seeing any difference. With these all I do is plug it in and let them go. Even if they last 5 years instead of 10 it’s worth it to me. I hate the heat issues (my solaris runs at 88 +-3degrees) the worry of a fire, and changing bulbs that comes with halides, so I went with this, plus, its a gimmick and I can be fairly easily sold on that if it seems to be worth it.
The one thing I would say is that these lights do not look incredibly powerful. They look brighter than my PCs, but are not super bright like halides. But, i’ve seen pictures of one guy who bleached a nice size piece of SPS because he placed it too close to the top, thinking the solaris was too weak. So i’m guessing its not.
Last thing, I got the 48inch for 2100 including shipping. If you look around enough you can find it for way less than most sites have it listed (this one I usually listed at 2500-2200 + shipping)
