Auto log on - cookie issue?
When I purchased a new computer with Vista this was the only forum that did not recognize the the auto log on features that are pretty common.
I made a similar comment months ago and while I various responses from members the problem persists.
The inability to auto log is one of the reasons for my limited participation in this forum.
Is this a problem on my end or yours?
No offence intended but I would prefer a response from someone associated with managing this website/forum.
Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Vista's "auto log on" features, but this forum uses the same cookie techniques as 99% of the rest of the internet.

Thanks for the timely response.
Haven't a clue why this website's "remember me" doesn't work - any suggestions?

Kevin, if Internet Explorers Cache gets too full (cookies, webpages, etc..) then it gets wonky about saving cookies. I had the same issue a while back and clearing the cookies solved the problem for me.

Definitely log in and then manaually hit the "Log Out" link. I know it sounds stupid, but it works more times than not. (Manually logging out deletes your login cookies)

I too have Vista,
a few things i hve found out,
if you leave the computer on for a long time and it does its auto update then it will clear many if not all of your auto log on passwords.
i have not problem with the auto log on with this site.If you are using Defender itis possible that it is blocking some of it too.

Thanks - when I logged out it gave me a message indicating it deleted cookies .. but when I went to the website again it did not recognize me.
I appreciate the effort but manually logging onto this website everytime you respond to a posts is a real PIA -
Wish you guys the best - adios.

I am using Windows defender .. but its not impacting any of the other forums I visit. If Windows defender is an issue .. any solution.

i have mine turned off. it is a pain in the butt to get to it.Defender even stopped up dates from microsoft!
IF yoru cokkies are deleted each time you log off then something in the browser your using is not letting you keep the log in info

Makes sense .. but to my knowledge I don't have any thing special in my IE. I have removed and then re-instituted TRF in my "block up blocker ignore" list. Maybe that will help.

Beats me .. but have tried everything that has been suggested and it doesn't work.
Not sure what the problem is - but I don't have problems on other forums so I will try back sometime next yr and see if I can connect w/o the log on problem.
Thanks for your advice. Good luck.
