OMG!!!!!!! This is Why I will Never buy any Tetra Products. Could the lady be more dense. I was horrified when she said that you need to add a conditioner to the tank to take chlorine out of the saltwater tank which leads me to believe that she has read only the fresh water instructions to the "kit tank" Also she not living up to her 1" of fish per gallon rule as the Tang even at that size needs a tank bigger than a 7 gallon. I am sure JennM is going to be horrified when she sees them dump the seahorse in the tank. How irresponsible is the Tetra Company being. Also doesn't Tetra specialize in just Fresh Water Aquarium Products? Who ever coordinated this peice should be thrown in the Piranha tank that they were demonstrating next.
Thanks for sharing karlas as I am sure Alice and many others including my self will be writing an e-mail to both CBS the Morning Show and Tetra.
They were making this out like the majority of saltwater fish are farm raised an I believe that there are only about 50 or so species of saltwater fish that can be captive bred. OOOOOOOHHHHHH this makes me mad.
There are people who should not be let near an aquarium.
Sorry for the rant. It is stuff like this blatant disregard for facts or the truth in the media these days that set me on end.
They should have shown their little 5 gallon Nemo tank a week later as everything in the tank became floating Nemo and friends.

I had read about this on "the other board that must not be named." There is a huge boycott that was started over there. They have been e-mailing Tetra saying that the boycott will continue until Tetra goes back on the show to recant what they originally said. I think they've gotten some of the big freshwater boards to join the boycott as well.
This is absolutely appalling to me. The Tetra never even mentions the need to add the appropriate salt. I can just see people buying the tank and dumping a container of Mortan's table salt into the water...

wow you guys havn't seen this yet, I thought the water had been kinda calm over here about the whole nemo thing, but I guess no one knew about the early show thing. they pulled the clip from the shows date page long ago, but you can also view here if the other link doesn't work for you
Link to clip
Absolutely sickening, it is unimaginable how much damage has been done to our hobby, not to mention untold thousands of innocent creatures, by Tetra in 1 minute. You can try emailing Tetra and cbs, as thousands already have, but all you get back is a cookie cutter letter thanking you for your input. Unfortunatley, I doubt the boycott will do anything since we, as saltwater aquarists, seldom use Tetra products; nevertheless, I refuse to buy anything from a company which shows such blatant disregard for marine life.

I have WMP and it wont open for me either,
As far as the boycott, write or email and telll them rationally how you feel, please dont cuss or threaten, but explain that they are wrong, and that every reef board and others on line are onto them, The net has more influence than it seems

And I felt bad have 4 fish in my 25 gallon!! I wouldn't even consider adding any tang to a 25 gallon alone a 5 gallon, what a sin, and you bet there are people who went out and did the same thing only to find dead fish a couple of hours later!!!
Shame on them!!!!!
