cleaning question

Well I have come to the part where I need to cleen out the inside of my new tank. My question is what is best to clean the glass. Will it hurt to use a normal glass cleaner or should I use something special?

paper towel and water...that is all I use. You don't want to use cleaners (from what I have heard) no matter how well you rinse, there are usually traces of the chemicals left. Hot water and a paper towel should be all you need.

When my tank was empty i used a shop vac to get rid of the dust, then I used hot ditilled water, and large towels, if you have acryllic be careful about using sponges, it may scratch it, NO SOAP OR WINDEX, BAD BAD BAD!!!!

Thanks for the ideas. No worries its alllllllllllllllllll glass all 300pounds of it. actualy I think it weighs a wee bit more than that but I ain't putting it on a scale to find out. All I know was it took 6 people to get it off my truck and 4 to get it in my house.

I use a very diluted vinegar solution with a really good rinse afterward. The vinegar really helps to cut calcium buildups and really gets the glass clean.

Some people have used muriatic acid but I wouldn't use it too strong or it may eat your silicone.
