Ewww Casey!
as i saw the pic, a thought came to mind,,,,
have you ever taken a digital meter reading (milli-volts) of the tank without the ground probe?
just courious of what you might have going on in the tank,,,
cause if the ground probe wire was made of titanium, i don't think it should have corroded that soon,
if it was alum. wire or anything other than titanium,,i could see it failing.
if you had stray/induced voltage in the tank in excess , i could also see it "eating up " the probe.
just a thought ,,,,,

I have seen those on eBay and I almost bought one Calico Analytics SSL-5 316L Stainless Steel Grounding Probe which is what I think that one is, but went with one sold for 13.50 at marinedepot.com. I have not had one corrode yet and I have two one in the main tank and one in the sump.

Even stainless steel will rush in salt water. 316L stainless is beter but will also end up rusting in time. Titanium is what you want.

I believe the probes on the package from Marine Depot are titanium.
