Question

Hey - what are flatworms? Anyone got a picture?

OK - I am hearing all this good and bad talk about flatworms...can anyone tell me what they look like and what they do in the aquarium? Would I know if I had them? (eek)

I have not heard any reports of these guys causing any problems in the aquarium, but they can quickly reproduce to plague proportions and can make your tank very unsightly. Lots of people have them in their aquarium and never have problems with them turning into a plague. Others have aquariums that are totally overrun by these things and have a terrible time getting rid of them We have a plague in one of our tanks, and they are in check in our other tank. Regardless, they are a creature I would rather not have in my tank.

Shortly after starting my new 75G, I had a decent little outbreak of this suckers (now knowing what they are). I found my True Perc. Clown was eating them pretty fast... guess they looked too much like the flaked food I was feeding him.
