Help........Murderers on the loose! Help me catch them!!!

How do I catch Sally light foot crabs?

I have 2 SLF, that are at least 4 inches across. They molt frequently, and have grown significantly.

They have now caught and eaten 4 fish. My tank is very healthy, and I am really sure it is them catching the fish, versed the fish dying and them eating them. When ever a fish gets close they go after them.

So........these guys have got to go!!!! I don't want to replace my eaten fish just to have them eaten again. How do I catch these guys???

Personally, I would just wait for the opportunity. Occasionally I will see mine walking on the glass at the bottom and could catch pretty easily if I wanted to.

I am sure all livestock can be different never seen mine have any interest at all in fish that swimming by.

How big of fish are we talking here ?

The old 'pop bottle' trick should work with these guys. The sally I had was a pig.

Get a large, clear plastic pop bottle, cut it in half (or less), take the neck half, flip it around and slide it inside the bottom part of the bottle. Bait it with a large chunk of shrimp or something, place it in the bottom of the tank and wait. Won't be too long before they go in to the bottle but can't find their way out. You might have to cut some of the neck off so they'll fit through if they're 4". You'll have to watch that you don't trap something else and provide an easy meal though.

Good luck

If you have an overflow, take off the screen. All 3 of mine go to the sump in the basement on a daily basis for some reason. They love the thrill I guess
