DREW'S BLUES

Most of you have been following Drewman's sagas in the two threads dealing with unwanted aliens in his new tank.
In between the jokes and barbs is some great learning for us all: Things that go bump in our tanks aren't always what they seem; There's a lot of collective knowledge here to help us work solutions to problems; (even wrong guesses count ) the more you can learn about invertebrates, the better; and we care about each other's tanks.
Great threads, keep them going! Who knows, we may find a cure for errant Aeolids and bloodthirsty Isopods!

By the time I'm done, the archives will filled to the limit. I really hope that people are learning something, I know I am. Of course, it is exciting to try some new possible solutions to a pretty much unsolved problem. Let me just say this, check your fish at about 3 in the morning, just once. Because, like I have said before, I would not know there was a problem if I hadn't checked. Look at my tang, this was a few hours ago, eating away at hair algae.

In the midst of what may seem like a bad situation, at least I can learn from this and then spread what I have learned to others. But I must ask the question, what is next? RTN? Thanks Dick!

Drew

Excellent point Dick. I was following the saga on this board and another and I thought the responses he received on this board were more informative.

Drew and Dick you are right about learning as much as we can about inverts and aliens that end up in our tanks(unfortunately it is through mistakes and misfortunes that may happen to any of us that we learn and grow).
I often check my tank at night between midnight and 4:00a.m to see if I notice anything that I may not see doing the daylight hours. So far not anything out of the ordinary(but then when is our reef ordinary). Johnny

Jerel;

Do you mean to tell me that you have never snuck out with a flashlight after you were supposed to be in bed? Not that I would know anything about that you understand

BTW;

Rumor has it that the next MACO class will be an Invertebrate Biology class, again taught by Ron Shimek. I don't know the dates or details but they'll post to most of the boards when the class is coming up. You could try contacting JamesO on reefs.org for more info.
