Brown Anemones
Brown Anemones, three of them, are on my live rock. There was originally one, but they have now spread. Since there are so few, I think I can control it, but I need to know how. Help!!!!!!!!!!
Help, please.

The peppermint will basically eat anything you put in the tank. Flake, frozen, anything.
One little note, though. When you put your peppermint in, do not feed it. When you feed the tank, only feed what's necessary. If your peppermint isn't hungry, it will not eat your aptasia.

Duke,
Joaco has an excellent page for info about Aiptasia and removal methods.
http://www.wyx.com/iheo/tank/aiptasia.htm
If you get a Peppermint, be sure to get the Lysmata wurdemanni, this one:
Rynchocinetes uritai, Camelback shrimp, are often sold as Peppermints but these will eat corals instead of Aiptasia!
I used one L. wurdemanni to rid my 55 of the pests.

I had 2 large L.wurdemanni shrimp in the 180 until my female bird wrasse got to be large enough to aquire a taste for shrimp cocktails... this may be a coincidence, but up until the wrasse consumed the shrimp, I could never get xenia to take hold in the 180, although they did fine in the prop tank (where has become a weed...) When the shrimp disappeared, suddenly xenia took off in the 180... ...HHHHmmmmmmm... ...the other side to this is that a small aiptasia has appeared on a new piece of LR in the 180 as well, I may be removing the bird wrasse and getting some new shrimp.

Thanks a lot everyone! I think I'll add a peppermint shrimp. Does this shrimp get along with Fire Shrimp or Cleaner Shrimp?

All your shrimp should get along just fine. Make sure you get at least two peppermints; three or four would be best. They are more comfortable in a group.

Or you can do like I did tonight for 3 hours I went after them in my wifes tank with boiling water and a TB needle. I would wait till they came out and inject them with boiling water. MUHAHAHAHAH I am so mean. But I hate them grin
