Tauch;
You did say these were wandering? Hard to tell from a pic but with the thick tentacles and the white tips, they look like baby Condalactys anemones.

Anemones
Alice the only one I actually witnessed moving is the one in the first picture. The one in the second pic (of which I have now counted three) wasn't on that piece of LR the last time I looked before discovery...or at least wasn't poking out..
I'll try to get a better photo of the first and the second also..
do the condalactys get big? or should I ask how big do they get?
cheers
rOB

Hmmm...if they're popping out of the rocks, then they more than likely are aiptasia although the tentacles on the 2nd one just don't look like aips to me....then again, it has been suggested that I may need glasses, lol.
If they are indeed condys, then yes, they can get quite large. I'm wishing a more experienced anemone IDer than myself would take a look at your pics

Dont look like aptasia to me either, but beyond that I have no clue. The fact they are popping out causes some concern,
" nothing good in a reef tank happens fast" But hopefully someone can give you an ID on these guys

Well even if we can't ID them, they sure are cool looking! Where did the rock come from?

Prolly flower anemone (the missing link between true anemone and corallimorphs), but possibly a spp of anemonia, especially if they have the ability to quickly retract. definitely Not a juviline Condylactis, they have "jointed" rings on their tentacles when they are this size., which they keep until they are about 7 cm size.

Anemones.....
Well, as best as I can tell...being that my german isn't that great this rock comes from Singapore, where it may of come from there is anyones guess...I have now counted three more for a total of six...their in the back of the tank which is hard to see due to the arrangement of the rock...don't seem to be hurting anything.
I'll keep you guys posted...any ideas what the first one may be? have found a total of three of them now. or do I need a better pic..
Cheers,
Rob
P.S. Guten Morgen

Mine look similar. I have three that came in on Gulf View rock. They extend much more at night. They are about the size of a quarter. The third one (not pictured) has a more flowery appearance and more tentacles. Otherwise, it has the same coloration.
Guesses as to ID - anyone?

Hi Richard
WELCOME TO TRT
Your have "light bulb anemones", common in the gulf. Right now the best you can do on a name is Actinaria spp.
The third one could be Aiptasia
