i'll try to snap a few pics, this afternoon perhaps
considering upgrading my waterflow...still maxing out at less than 20x hour and i'd prefer the uncluttered look so...what i'm looking at is the
tunze turbelle 7200/2 (electronic powerhead). its motor can be slowed and pulsed between 30 and 100%, like the streams, with the single controller (7091). 100% for the 7200 is over 600gph. along with the pulsing feature the 7200 has an ~ 1" output which handles all that flow and doesn't funnel it into a 3/8" output (which creates a **** water pick). especially in a small tank (like mine) where space is at a premium, eliminating these coral hostile water pics is really appealing. the tentative plan then is to go with the SCWD returns-potentially amping up pump size (mag 5->mag950?) and the tunze pulsing between 50 and 100%.
i haven't heard of many experiences with these electronic pulsing powerheads which makes me want to try one even more. in the proper setup they could replace a more traditional wavemaker.
