This is my first saltwater setup and it is really just getting started. The system includes two display tanks: a reef display and a refugium display. The two tanks share the same sump. An adjustable valve firects approximately 1/5 of the total flow through the fuge. I only use RO/DI water.
Tanks:
75g Reef Display (60 lbs LS/129 lbs LR)
48#
Tonga Branch
36# Select Lalo
45# Figi Premium
Powersweep 228 Wavemaker Powerhead
Aquaclear 400
48” 4x65w Coralife PC
Red Sea Prizm
Protein Skimmer
45g Refugium Display (next to reef display)
4" DSB
Dual overflow siphons for redundancy
15g Sump
15g Reservoir for auto-top off and water changes
30g Quarantine (FOWLS 20 lbs)
Powersweep 228 Wavemaker Powerhead
Convenience features:
Auto top-off from RO/DI reservoir
Assisted water change mode stops return pumps and automatically drains sump; premixed saltwater from RO/DI reservoir automatically refills sump. This feature will encourage frequent water changes.
Safety features:
Overflows on sump and RO/DI reservoirs tie directly into household drain system, thereby circumventing the possibility of many potential disasters.
Dual overflows on display tanks provide redundancy in case of clogging or loss of overflow siphon.;
Dual float switches on display tanks kill return pumps if water level rises above overflow.
