hello everyone, i just signed up this morning as mem. of TRT. after 15yrs of being away from any reefkeeping, i've just recently reached in my wallet again and have set up a 37gal. reef tank. quite a few things have changed in 15yrs. hope you'll have the patience to help out when i need it.
tnk specs. 25"hx20"lx18"w
60lbs lr, including one piece that is 30lbs
150w 10,000k mh, 2x65w act. pc
20gal tank as sump- no media, just filter sock that gets rinsed once a day.
coralife pskmr rated for 65gal.
1/2 in live sand
tank is in cycling stage with 5ppm nitrite. thought about going out to the beach and sabiki a damsel or two to put in sump but decided on a baby royal gramma instead. not complaining but not sure why the rg looks and acts like the tank has been running for years. same with a dime size frag. of pulsing xenia. am i lucky! too early for celeb! or what do u think?

Welcome to TRT!You really shouldn't have frags in the tank till the tank has cycled.

is it more less i'm disrupting the cycle or the frags r not gonna make it in this new enviro? bit too late now, i'm hoping for the best.

Take some time and cruise the boards here. Maybe do a few searches on cycling and easy corals to see how things have changed a bit over the years
