new!

hi guys just to say hello. I am new to this forum and marine and already i am so hooked. I have kept malawi cichlids for a number of years now with some success at breeding etc, and now i have made the giant leap to marines!. my tank is a juwel 180 (40 gal) with 2 seio powerheads, a prizm skimmer, fluvel 405, vectron uv, 15kg live rock (need more), a glo T5 unit with 2 x 39 watt life-glo tubes and 1 x 39 watt actinic blue. My tank was cycling for 5 weeks with 7 kg live rock plus 2 domino damsels and 1 dottyback basslet (hardy fish i believe?). Anyway i hope to be picking all your brains as i live and learn. Thanks for your time. Neil.

Welcome to TRT! when you get some $$$ I'd buy a better skimmer and I'd lose the canister filter unless you clean it weekly and only run carbon and other stuff to help the water ,not as a filter.

WELCOME TO TRT

Ditto to what Loverotties said about the skimmer and canister. canisters are nitrate havens and will give you problems down the road. Also Is that an anemone below the Leather? Your tank is probally not mature enough for an anemone yet Just my $.02

Chris is right about the Anemone. They usllay need a mature tank that's a yr old or older were the water perimeters stay stable.
