Currently, I have 2 Saltwater tanks. A 55g temporary holding tank in the basement and an 11g nano-tank at work on my desk.
I used to have a 125g setup with ~120lbs of live rock, 4" DSB with a couple False Percs, a Coral Beauty,
Mandarin Dragonette and a
Clown Goby with quite a few critters thrown in.
Last June I moved into a new house with space to add a 400+g built-in tank in the basement. I ended up selling the 125, moving my freshwater tank into a 29g and moving the SW tank into the FW's 55g tank. During the move I put everything into a 40g plastic tub in the garage and lost just about everything in the week it took me to get it moved into the 55g. Currently, about the only thing living is the rock and maybe 2 hermit crabs. I've been slowly building it back, I now have my RO/DI plumbed into the sump. My crappy RIO 2100 shorted out on me a couple of weeks ago which was hooked to the CPR overflow causing the tank to overflow ruining the stand and lowering the SG to 1.005 and cooling the tank to under 70 degrees. I've been bringing the SG back up to normal levels and replaced the RIO... Planning on getting some more LR to re-seed the system in the coming weeks... Anyway, nothing much to look at right now so no pics
The 11g nano at work is doing well after crashing due to a faulty heater last summer.
IOTW, I have had less than stellar luck in the past few months and have been in a "holding" mode until I find time/money to get everything running well again.
Anyway, what I have planned is a 400 - 500g acrylic tank 8'x4-5'x30 or 36" wide (haven't finalized it yet). I'll be building a short 4x4 treated stand for it (about 1 foot high) and build the wall around it. It'll be located in my living room/home theater in the basement and will probably include a "view port" from the office on the other side. I'll be doing all the plumbing myself and I just finished wiring a pair of 20amp GFCI circuits for the lights/equipment today. The lights require a 20amp dedicated circuit as I'll have 4x400W MH plus a few Actinic VHOs ~2000W total.
I'll post updates as I go...
