My 600 Gallon Reef

I am lousy taking pictures, so I thought that I would share a link to the live web cams I have on my 600 gallon reef and a few of my other tanks. Windows users should use the Java Viewer located on the right side to switch between tanks. Mac users should use the MJPEG Viewer (non-ie) to view the web cams. Enjoy!

Really nice tank... is it in a garage?

or are you in the process of building a room around it?

That's a lot of tangs even for a 600g tank. You may not have any problems now but you will within a year or two as they all mature. The bioload on that thing is also going to start having negative effect on the tank as nutrients start to leach into the rock and sand. What are you using for nutrient export?
What are the specs on the tank itself?

The tank was originally going into my living room, but after all said and done, the total weight for the system was more than the floor could handle, so I placed the tank in my basement.

Under the tank is a 160 gallon sump/refugium along with dual life guard mechanical, chemical & UV canisters. There are 2 sand filters along with a phos ban reactor, calcium reactor & H&S skimmer. There are 6 Blue Line pumps running the systems.

Awesome!

I was watching while you were working in the tank this morning. The fish were sure busy watching what you were doing as well.

Good thing I was dressed.... Doing a little water testing and a rock had fallen off on one of the clams. The fish are always begging for food. They think evey time I am around, it's feeding time....

For those with dial up, or who are unable to view the web cams, here are a couple of photos of the 600 gallon reef.

I love the Dussumer's tang. It is the perfect size since its not huge but is starting to show adult colors. Watch the phosphate levels with all of those fish (obvious diatom issue on the glass). Over time the phosphates will start to build up in the rocks and sand and eventually become a major issue if you want to keep SPS. The phosphate reactors will remove it from the water column but will not solve the issue once they start leaching back into the tank.
