Since I placed the fish in the tank, I have only seen it twice out in the open. Even during feeding, it stays tucked under the rocks. I have to wonder what it is eating???

I bought one years ago for my aggressive tank and it didn't last very long, so I really wasn't looking for one. The LFS had it come in so I thought that I would give another one a try. I was in the same store yesterday and saw that they had gotten another in this week, one a little larger than the one I picked up.

I understand that different regions get in different stuff, so perhaps that is why I have not seen any. I wish you the best of luck with this one.

Marine bettas are normally pretty common.... Maybe they're TOO good at hiding sometimes, lol.

yeah i know i'm alittle late , but very , very nice tank goodwin !
as the owner of a 600 myself i always wonder why everyone elses tank looks bigger than mine !
i'm helping out a friend whom also is joining the 600 club. i am assuming that your tank is acrylic and with your price tag at around $2200 is it 3/4" ? , i know my tank came in at close to $8000 because it is one inch on top bottom and sides , and your price is just about what my friend paid .
my question is have you noticed any bowing ( slight or extreme ) due to the thickness ? if so due you feel that the tank my become a liability down the road ?

Actually, the sides of my tank are 1/2" acrylic. The euro bracing is a combination of both 1" & 3/4" acrylic which you can see in this picture. There was quite a bit of discussion when the tank was being built whether or not 1/2" would hold up and not bow. The builder assured me that there wouldn't be a problem and now a little more than two years later, I have not seen any nor other people who have seen the tank in person and looked for any signs of bowing. I don't have any reason to think that I will have any problems in the future.
I remember how heavy this tank was when it was moved in and I can't imagine how heavy yours weighed in with the 1" acrylic. You must have had an army to get it in place.
