I found these pictures of the Vlamingi that were taken back in March of '07, three inches at the most.
Here it is in a photo take a few weeks ago...

I feel the same way about Houston, or anywhere on the gulf coast for that matter. Thinking about it, those growth shots are a good data point to show people why it's a bad idea to put Naso species in a small tank.

Good point! I got two of them when I set this tank up and put the second in my 210. That one has grown as big as the one in the 600 and is so smart I can't catch him to move it to the bigger tank. They are a cute little tang that aren't very expensive and most people (including myself) don't realize how fast they grow, or how large they will get........

I can't imagine how big the sailfin in the picture would be if it had grown as fast as the Vlamingi..........

Basement...heck, I think you are close enough to see it for real. I'd trade a week in my basement for a week in Florida any day

So what kind of food do you feed those guys and how often? I have a 150G tank and have not seen much growth out of my fish.

Here are a few pictures of the other Vlamingi that arrived at the same time, and was the same size as the one in the 600.

I was able to get the LFS to special ordera Blonde Naso in to replace the one I lost a couple of months ago. It was nice to add it to the tank and not have anyone else get upset about it.

what a beautiful tank! How long have you had it up and running? It's interesting to me to see so many tangs in one tank. Did you plan it in advance? - i.e. adding the less aggressive ones first, and then the more aggressive ones later? I love the pics - thanks for sharing!
