BALTIMORE REEF
55 gal glass perfecto double drilled in top corners, did this when I worked in a LFS 10yrs ago, which meet and go to sump drip plate
I made the custom hood, sump and stand
Hood - 2 VHO 10,000k, 1 48wt 50/50, 1 Atinic 03 blue, Fan
Sump - 20 gal regular perfecto, took acyrilic and divided, back then drip filters were the in thing, so 8 gal of BioBalls, a great
protein skimmer in here as well (venturi)
Stand - double door, with 2 hidden doors on sides, with shelving on the inside, looks awesome
In process, I am going to take one of the drain lines and have it goto to a 10 or 20 gal refugium, where I will have 2 mangroves, other plant life, 10 lbs of rock, and some critters, then have a return line to the skimmer
BUT THIS WILL BE TEMPORARY SETUP BECAUSE I HAVE A HIGH BIOLOAD<< I AM GETTING A MUCH BIGGER TANK (at least 180bow), AND WILL BE BUILDING THAT STAND, HOOD (going MH now), and SUMP >>> tax returns are Great!
THE REEF
unknown how much rock, started with a small base of coral rock, then Fiji, Tonga, pretty good amount of several well covered polyp rocks (several types)
Corals - large coverage Xenia (pulsing, mat, and another), about 20 different type of mushrooms in colonies, Colt, various other brightly colored soft corals, leather finger, unknown SPS mat coral, Acropora (very bright green)
THE FISH (bioload!)
Thanks to my girlfriend I have a high bioload tank, she loves to bring fish home, well here it is>>> blue damsel, yellow tail damsel, cardnal, sea bass, blue hamlet, Raccoon, wierd hawkfish (cross btwn a flame and regular), clarki clown, dusty jawfish (great base stirrer), good size wrase, banded shark (hatched from egg case, that was cool), spanish hog, and dont have a heart attack a huma trigger (no he hasnt eaten anything important) I flipped when when she did that one, well he wont be making to move to the bigger tank, trading him to LFS for staghorn and clam.
CRITTERS
maxima clam (came from the Fiji rock), 2 types brittle stars, red and
blue leg hermits (I think 60?), various snails (unknown at least 60), urchin(spiny he is being removed as well, eating calcerous algae).
I have no hair algae problem, nitrates 0, ammonium 0, I do a 5gal water change once a week. I drip Kalkwasser, add Iodine, and 3 other products are added.
I highly recommend quality Fiji rock, lots of great life forms come from it, clams, stars, sponges, tunicate, corals, great stuff.
Not sure how to transfer a picture, by time I figure it out will probably have the larger tank ready
