My system consists of 3 tanks totaling about 65 gallons.
The main display is a 40 gallon acrylic that is home to a variety of soft, LPS and
SPS corals, as well as a variety of mushrooms
. It has a 4" oolitic sandbed consisting of 100 lbs of ESV oolitic and 30 lbs of CaribSea Aragamax. There is about 45 lbs of Fiji live rock in this tank. It is lit by a 175W 10K Ushio MH driven by an IceCap ballast with 1 95W VHO actinic supplementing it.
The sump is a 20 gallon high with a 4" sandbed (not oolitic) and about 20 lbs of live rock. Sen 700 as a return. Sump is lit by 1 24" 75W 50/50 VHO.
The third tank in the system is an Eclipse 6 sitting behind (and a little above) the main display. This is my refugium. It is fed from the sump by a Maxijet 900 and has a gravity return to the main tank. It is lit by 2 13w PCs for Caulerpa growth. The refugium has 25 lbs of ESV oolitic aragonite for a 4" bed and a couple pounds of "
rubble rock". Tons-o-pods call this place home.
