mojo's puddle

Here my Puppy
-The Tank is a 300 Acrylic Custom Made
-I have a 6 to 7 inch sand bed tha I re-seed every year through Indo-Pacific. and other peoples tanks
-Thier is Appoximately450 lbs of LR, most of this is from the Marshalls but thier is figi some nice Tonga Branch.
-The rock is sitting on a PVc (1/2) rack which I drilled with many holes on the top side. I have attached this rack to a 1200 mag pump. ( what this does is circulates the water from the base of the rock upwards so that the debris that goes to settle on the bottom is put back into the flow of the built in returns and gets it out of the tank)
LIGHTING
-As per Lighting I run 5 400 watt 10000K MH's. 1. 4 - 4 foot VHO's (110 watt each)all are blue . Also thier is a moon light ( just two blue party lights). Thier also is a 100watt grow light that I have over the refrguim on reverse time. The Lighting system is run by an AquacontollerII. Moon light is on Carribean schedule
REFUGIUM:
Water enter the ref. through one of the drains (1"), it flows through sunmerged bio-balls(submerged does not allow the growth of anabiolic's) then flows under a baffle and into the main refuge area. At the end of the ref. area thier is a plexi wall with what I call a rack on topp (designed to catch any micro algaes on the go) thier is a 4 inch open artea at the end that I placed my heaters. Form this point i flows through a 2 inch bulkhead into the 1st sump compartment.
SUMP:
In the 1st compartment the 2nd & 3rd drain from the tank enters and joins the flow from the refg.. together the waters flow under a baffle and into the main sump section. In this section I have a built in skimmer (Berlin copy) being fed by a Mag 1800. the retun water from the skimmer also return into this area. Thier is a 802 powerhead in hear to this takes water and pushes it into a 3 canister setup (that drains back into the 1st chamber) in this canister filter I have carbon. I only run this filter twice a mont or as needed. There is a temp, ph and orp probes in a builtin holder. also a holder for the calcium reactor tubing. The water in this area is very turbulant and I believe gets more than enough airation. from this section the water flows down through a sponge ( cleaned twice weekly) and into the final chamber. From Here it is taken through a 1 1/2 bulkhead and into a ampmaster 3000 then up through a 1 1/2 pipe to a 1 1/2 manifold. On the mainfold their are 2 outlets into the tank using 3/4 locline and 1 to a seaswirl (These are all controlled individually by gate valves).
CLOSED LOOP:
I have 2 - 1 inch bulheads in the middle of the tank. This drains water into another Ampmaster 3000, then returns it back up to a 1 1/2 manifold that has 3 outlets using locline and 1 seaswirl (all outlets are controlled by individual gate valves).

-I have a three stage ro/di unit plumbed to a Kent float in the final compartment of the sump that automatically tops of the evaporation water ( 3 -5 galls a day)

-A MTC dual chamber reactor is also attached that doses the tank continiously ( bubble rate 60 per min.) and very reliable.

-A 1/2 hp Aquanetics chiller that draws off one of the manifolds into another room and returns it to the sump. Unit in the winter runs about 1/2 hour a day.

-*The whole tank is run by a AquacontrollerII ( I don't know where i would be with out it) It controls the heaters, chiller, reactor, probes, lighting, pumps, filters ect.
