I have been interested in Saltwater tanks for about four years now and I am finally setting up a reef tank. I have a twenty gal tank with a homemade hood with two 15 watt power glows. I have an amiracle wet/dry made for a 55 gal, equipped with bio-balls, and carbon. I have been up and running for five days with ten pounds of live rock. I plan to add more as the funds are available. I also am looking for a
protein skimmer. I have a percula clown and one chromis in the tank now. I ahd two chromis, but one died within eight hours of introduction. I believe I had an ammonia and nitrit spike from the live rock die off. Really need a skimmer. I believe I should have enough light for some mushrooms and soft corals. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, I have about an inch of
florida crushed coral. The live rock is from Fiji. Well I hope to have more to report in a little while after my cycle is complete.
